Trust revises investment strategy

MFS High Income Municipal Trust revised its investment objective on December 21, 2007, shifting from high current income exempt from federal tax with secondary total return to prioritizing tax-exempt high current income while considering capital appreciation. The changes eliminate percentage limits on investments, permit up to 100% in lower-quality debt, and remove derivative restrictions, granting the manager greater flexibility. It still requires at least 80% in tax-exempt bonds and notes. These tweaks enhance adaptability in volatile markets.
